Trekking to the Everest Base camp trek 2016 Feb With Sanjib

Everest Base camp Guide / Everest Base Camp Trekking - Winter and Spring 2016 | Nepal Guide Info

Trek
to Everest Base Camp. Hardest thing I've ever done but the most rewarding.

Only made it to Gorek Shep, (5180m) two and a
half hours away from EBC when the wheels fell off . Altitude sickness kicked in
. Hard to sleep, relentless pumping headache, no appetite, then the nausea and
vomiting started and I knew I needed a rest. I had been trying to drink the
recommended 7 liters of water a day , drink and pee, drink and pee, but the
thin air took it's toll. My friends pushed on to base camp, both strong walkers
and I was proud of them but everyone was suffering to a degree.

One man needed medical attention after the third
day. Nothing to do with altitude more likely some medical condition not
recorded on the trip notes. The Nepal Planet Treks crew assessed the situation
very professionally and called in a chopper.

Felt better as soon as I got below 4,700 meters.
Enjoyed the walk down , feeling better every step, drinking at the local bars,
free pool , music, popcorn, disco lights , dance floors, pot belly stove fueled
by yak poo, friendly people, Gorka, Tuborg and Everest beer. The view of Everest
from the Monastry in Tengboche are impressive, it also has a wonderful bakery.
The apple crumble washed down with ginger tea hit the spot after a long walk.

A few days in Kathmandu to wind-down before the
flight home . Done a tour by local bus visiting the Holy men at the Hindu
temple for an astrology reading and had lunch overlooking the huge Buddhist
Stupa.

Cheap fun shopping, shirts, jumpers, scarfs ,
bags, CD's, beads, wall hangings, all hiking gear, traditional paintings .
Bought a landscape oil painting for $25 in Phakding . Discovered Nepalese
Music. Heaps of good restaurants and bars. Some stay open as long as you like.

Loved Nepal , from the dusty, streets of
Kathmandu to Everest blowing it's top in the jet stream. Had a great holiday
and was very impressed with Nepal Planet Treks and Expedition
Thank
you So Much Mr Sanjib Adhikari

Namaste !!
